Racial Equity Counseling

Our country has a long history of racial equity issues.

People who look like me were brought here as slaves for generations, then segregated for generations more.

Chinese were brought over as cheap labor for railroads and Japanese were interned during World War 2.

Even white men have historically suffered from racism - right here in New York there was a time when job postings in the New York Times would read “No Irish Need Apply.”

Today’s civil rights struggle is centered around the Black Lives Matter movement and law enforcement.

This movement and this moment in history can bring up a lot of complicated questions and feelings. What are they fighting for? What is systemic racism? What is an anti-racist? Am I a racist?

We may not be able to find a solution, but it is something that we can talk about and work through together as we all grapple with these challenges.

If you’d like to discuss these issues with me, just contact me.
